How did it begin?
Our The Story Behind Khaleeji Qahwa
Khaleeji Qahwa Specialty Coffee was founded by Manveer (Amir) Al-Madani (coffee messenger) Seerah, an entrepreneur whose passion for coffee was shaped not only by family traditions but also by years of travel, cultural exchange, and personal resilience.
Born with profound hearing loss and living with autism, Manveer learned from an early age that communication extends far beyond spoken words. Throughout his life, he relied on observation, body language, facial expressions, and human connection to understand the world around him.
These experiences cultivated resilience, adaptability, and an appreciation for the many ways people communicate across cultures.
Although determined to pursue higher education, the challenges of navigating academic life without consistent accommodations made completing that path difficult. Rather than allowing setbacks to define his future, Manveer chose to pursue a different education—one gained through travel, service, and firsthand cultural experiences.
The Road to Istanbul, Turkey
Driven by curiosity and a desire to understand the world, he traveled through Eastern Turkey and neighboring regions, spending time with local communities and volunteering among people affected by conflict and displacement. Along the way, he was welcomed into homes where hospitality transcended language. Around shared meals and cups of coffee, he listened to stories of family, tradition, resilience, and hope.
One experience remained constant throughout these journeys: the ritual of preparing and sharing coffee. Whether brewed over heated sand or served from a traditional dallah, coffee became a bridge between strangers, creating opportunities for conversation, trust, and friendship.
These experiences transformed Manveer's understanding of coffee. He came to see it not simply as a beverage but as a symbol of hospitality, generosity, and cultural identity. Coffee had the unique ability to bring together people of different backgrounds, languages, and beliefs around a shared experience..
Driven by passion
The foundation of Khaleeji Qahwa is also deeply rooted in family tradition. Many of the company's recipes, including Arabian Gulf qahwa, Coffee on Sand (Kumda Kahve), karak chai, and selected food offerings, are inspired by recipes and traditions passed down from Manveer ‘s grandmother. Her approach to hospitality—welcoming every guest with warmth, generosity, and a carefully prepared cup of coffee—became one of the guiding principles of the company.
These family traditions, combined with years of travel and cultural exchange, inspired the creation of Khaleeji Qahwa Specialty Coffee.
